Paint Plan & Chronicle: Week 43 Supplies
Welcome to Creative Healing! I explain all of this in the video above but I will go over it again for you. The journal or planner you use doesn’t matter, but I am using me & my BIG ideas Create 365 The Happy Planner, Hello Life, 18 Month Planner, July 2016 – December 2017 Because it’s big and cute, the pages come come out and the price is right. Ok so, this has nothing to do with planning but everything about being happy. What I am doing is starting my morning off reading something small and inspirational. This is the book I read every morining : Believing In Myself: Self Esteem Daily Meditations– A cute little book with a short passage to read each day. The book you choose each day doesn’t matter as long as it is meaningful to you and small. After reading I have three columns to fill. The way I divide them up is one rectangle is for an affirmation or quote from the reading, one rectangle is for my journal response to the reading, and another rectangle is for art, doodles, a photo, anything visual. The above page is what I made the video of. It contains elements from The Brimbles Box a cute monthly kit that gives me a place to start each month, and is based around the layout idea that oops I missed a day, let’s not stop but let’s then take up two spaces. Here below is how I did the beginning of the week.
The art on the left side is a small print of a painting I did, because while I use planner paraphernalia and stickers, using my own art in my planner is empowering. Whatever your skill level, you can be proud of what you created that month when you look back in your journals. It also makes your pages more your own. So this page was done like I said, with reading from the book and staying in the column for the day. On Tuesday, as you can see, I really liked the idea of Show Yourself Grace, which came from a sticker from the Carpe Diem Reset Girl Planner Stickers Bundle with Clear, Word Label, Insta Quote, Planner Basics, Icon (Set of 5 Items) . And that, my Journalistas, is the magic of planner things – we don’t even know where we are going as we work on the days page, but all of a sudden a little sticker can changeyourwholelife.
The Paint Plan & Chronicle theme for November 2016 is SHOW YOURSELF GRACE. Now, I am not religious, and the idea of grace doesn’t have to be either. Grace is showing unconditional love to someone even when they don’t deserve it. Tis the season now, to show this kindness to others, but in my recovery, I first need to show it to myself. I am really really hard on myself and on Tuesday I realized holy crap, I don’t ever give myself a break. Actually, it was Lee Ann who said to me, “Dude, you are too hard on yourself.” And it all came together, planner sticker and friend and universe, all telling me the same thing.
This is our mantra for November! No matter what is going on keep coming back to this statement. What it really is, is a willingness to be open to the possibility that at some point, you will feel worthy, because you are. We all are. In my gut I know, that no matter how we behave, who we are, if you want to call it a soul, it could just be our humanity, it is always pure. Our personality can become quite tarnished, but everyone is worthy of grace. Tough to swallow in this political climate, but, yes, even that guy. That doesn’t mean we tolerate it, but it is the knowing that deep down underneath the bravado and abuse, is a very damaged human. Now like I said though, the focus is on us. I can’t even begin to have grace for hurtful people when I can’t even give it to myself. It has to begin right here, with us.
SUPPLIES FOR WEEK 43
Kuretake Clean Color Real Brush Watercolour Brush Pens (Set Of 24 Colours)– I use these pens constantly in my journals. I have had them a year and they are STILL JUICY. Buying cheap products will not last nor will it give you pretty pages. The colors are vivid and gorgeous but also, the brush moves very much like watercolor, yet you do not need any water! They blend into each other like paint.
Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils, Soft Core, 72-Count– Are a staple colored pencil. Because of their high opaque quality they cover like paint!
Avery Sticker Project Paper, White, 8.5 x 11 Inches, Pack of 15 (03383) – I love to make my own stickers with this paper. I made the word Grace on it.
Stabilo Pens Item 8830-1 Point 88-Fine Point-30 Color Wallet of Coloring Pens/Fineline Markers-Includes 30 Unique Colors – Hands down my favorite colored fine line marker to use in my planners and journals.
I think that is it. If you have any questions, ask them in the comments below and I will answer them. There is also a FB Paint Plan & Chronicle page if you would like to upload your creative healing pages too!
